Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Booking Clerk within our booking office based at Conquest Hospital within our Cancer Booking Team
The post is initially for a 12 month secondment to cover 37.5hours a week.
Main duties of the job
The department provides a fast and responsive outpatient booking service This post will be the processing of Urgent Suspected Cancer referrals. Therefore, the ideal candidate will need a keen eye for detail, IT knowledge, and an ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team, working to strict deadlines.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good general education to GCSE or equivalent level including English and Maths
- Ability to undertake additional training on departmental IT and manual systems
Desirable criteria
- ECDL or alternative IT qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous admin and clerical experience in a busy office environment or similar skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience and understanding of a Patient Administration System (PAS)
- Customer care skills and experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.

- Good keyboard and IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
