Job overview
We are looking for an experience and dynamic Band 6 Senior Theatre Practitioner who is looking to develop their practice at Eastbourne and Conquest Hospital. Working in elective and Emergency Theatres within the General, Gynae, Obstetric and ENT team.
You must be committed to providing excellent standards of patient care with good communication skills.
Candidates need to show professionalism, maturity, reliability, flexibility and be highly motivated individuals seeking a challenge and to thrive in a busy environment.
The theatre department is committed to offering a first rate service and supporting staff development. You will receive ongoing support from our practice educators and continuing professional development along with opportunities to enhance your experience. You will also be responsible for supporting, mentoring and developing junior staff.
Main duties of the job
The Band 6 Specialist Theatre practitioner will be responsible for maintaining an efficient and effective service on a daily basis to deliver safe patient care within an environment that promotes a responsive approach to changing healthcare needs, they will be supported by the Department Matron and Deputy Lead Theatre Practitioner.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse or Registered Operating Department Practitioner
- Mentorship Preceptorship Course /ENB 998.
- A1/D32 D33
- Evidence of relevant CPD/Revalidation documents.
- Multi skilled competencies within the Operating Theatres.
Desirable criteria
- Educated to degree level
- Management/leadership course
Experience
Essential criteria
- Two years experience as a Registered Practitioner within Theatres demonstrating areas of responsibility and management.
- Multi skilled competencies within the Operating Theatres.
- Experience in leading a clinical area/operating sessions.
- Risk assessor training & experience

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
