East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic full time Finance and Procurement Liaison Officer to join our dedicated team of Finance professionals.
You will be a self-motivated, pro-active individual with a positive attitude and good communication skills. You will be able to flexibly manage your workload and provide a full service in purchase ledger, ensuring the ledger is accurate and backlog is kept to a minimum.
Main duties of the job
This is a fast paced and challenging role in a complex and dynamic environment, and you will have the opportunity to support a key function within the Financial Services team from daily input, managing a portfolio of suppliers to dealing with ad hoc queries and supporting your management colleagues with day-to-day tasks.
This role would be suited to an AAT student looking to gain knowledge and experience of working within a Financial Services environment within the NHS.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Careful use of Trust systems both manual and electronic, to ensure accuracy of data. Store and share information in accordance with department protocols, Trust Information Governance Policy and Data Protection Legislation.
To investigate and resolve invoice queries promptly and support timely payment of invoices, thereby improving the Trust’s Better Payment Practice Code (BPPC) and No Purchase Order No Pay Policy (No PO, No Pay). Liaise with Finance and Procurement staff to ensure best practice is carried out.
To act as a point of liaison between accounts payable staff, procurement staff and budget managers in resolving invoice queries, and improving the accuracy of the General Ledger (GL) and the VAT coding of orders to suppliers.
Supervision of Assistant Finance Liaison Officer.
