Job overview
The post holder will provide an admin service to support the Acute Assessment Unit, including Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). The successful applicant will work closely with the Consultants, Senior Nursing Team and Ward Clerks in the unit to ensure exceptional care and patient experience for patients attending the unit. The role also includes admin support for medical team rotas and training to ensure accurate data collection on the unit. It will also support governance and performance.
Main duties of the job
To undertake a range of duties including administrative support for the medical and nursing staff, maintaining rota and leave management. Collating information and action logs to enhance governance and performance. Facilitate improvement in quality of care. Develop and maintain effective and efficient admin service and support strategic developments. Manage monthly meetings and maintain and monitor action logs from these meetings. Provide day to day line management of the ward clerks in liaison with the senior nursing team. Manage complaints and resolve any patient issues that arise.

- GCSE Maths and English
- Educated to diploma level or equivalent experience
- Over 3 years experience working in an acute NHS Trust
- Proficient working with Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)

- Experience of internal IT systems
- Experience working in an Acute Assessment Unit/Emergency Department
- Experience at undertaking audits
