Are you passionate about developing others, strengthening clinical education, and shaping the future of the healthcare workforce? We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward‑thinking Practice Education Facilitator to join our team and play a key role in supporting high‑quality learning experiences across our clinical areas.
As a Practice Education Facilitator, you will work collaboratively with students, apprentices, newly registered practitioners, and placement areas to ensure that learning environments are supportive, inclusive, and conducive to excellent clinical practice. You will champion educational standards, provide expert guidance to supervisors and assessors, and contribute to initiatives that enhance workforce development and clinical competency.
A key focus of this role will be supporting learners with diverse needs, including those requiring reasonable adjustments to succeed in practice. You will work with learners, educators, and clinical teams to assess risks, implement tailored support strategies, and ensure that adjustments are monitored and effective. Your leadership will help promote equitable and accessible learning for all.
This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria.
Main duties of the job
You will also work in close partnership with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs), building strong relationships to ensure alignment between academic requirements and practice‑based learning. Through effective collaboration with university partners, you will help maintain high‑quality placements, support early identification of learner needs, and ensure a consistent, joined‑up approach to educational support across all stages of training.

To direct the provision of progressive and innovative education to support safe and effective practice education for students on Nursing, Nursing Associate, Operating Department Practitioners and Paramedic pathways and trust clinical staff. The post holder will support and co-ordinate the development of education programmes for registered and unregistered clinical staff and students by coordinating educational activities and assessments of learning within the department and in conjunction with clinical educators throughout the Trust.

The Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) plays a key role in supporting high‑quality learning experiences for healthcare learners across Child and Adult clinical environments.
With a dedicated focus on inclusion, accessibility, and safety, the PEF works in partnership with placement areas, universities, and trust leadership to ensure all learners—particularly those with additional needs—can thrive and achieve their full potential.
To work collaboratively with the Clinical Education Lead - preregistration and engage with the Chief People Officer agenda with regards to practice development.
To identify practice development and education requirements in the Trust and work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in their implementation.
To demonstrate effective communication and customer care skills with patients and their
relatives/carers, staff and learners in practice.
To communicate information to senior managers and deliver formal presentations
To facilitate the learning and continuing development of clinical staff ensuring that
education is responsive to service developments.
To facilitate training needs analysis.
To act as a role model and encourage effective working relationships and the development
of cohesive team working.
To manage a team of Practice Development Nurses and administration staff, including
roster management, appraisals, professional development and health and wellbeing.
To work in accordance with the NMC Code (2018) and Trust policies and procedures.
To remain accountable for own practice, taking every opportunity to sustain and improve
knowledge and professional competence.
Attend mandatory training updates as required.
Undertake training as necessary in line with the development of the post and as agreed with the line manager as part of the personal development process.

Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- First level registered nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent
- Practice Assessor or equivalent
- Practice Teacher / Post Graduate Certificate in Education or currently undertaking
- Significant and proven clinical and management skills
- Experience working within the apprentice system and with apprentices
- Experience of teaching and assessing learners (face to face, blended, e-learning)
- Has had experience of managing reasonable adjustments and risk management for those with diversity within education Educational settings
- Experience of leading professional learning opportunities / working in Practice Development
- Master’s Degree level study or willingness to undertake
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of developing innovative education programmes and being proactive in identifying education needs
- Leadership and Management course
- Evidence of strong partnership networking and team working skills
