Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast paced and vibrant administrative team, to cover maternity. Supporting the Surgery Division with the management of their surgical rota at Worthing Hospital, the successful postholder will ensure appropriate medical and clinical cover 

This is a vital role in helping our teams and services deliver excellent care for our patients.

 

Main duties of the job

Residential Doctor Rota Management

The Surgery Rota Coordinators' key responsibilities lie within planning and managing the junior doctor rotas, including Foundation Year 1, Foundation Year 2, Core Trainees and Senior House Officers in General Surgery, Urology and Trauma & Orthopaedics. This role will involve working closely with the Medical Staffing team to ensure the rotas are compliant, and, in relation to recruitment, timely allocation of doctors and junior doctor rotations to new starters. Additionally, the Surgery Rota Coordinators work proactively to source cover for gaps on the rota for ward cover and on-call shifts. Responsibilities include managing rota gaps through bank, internal locum or agency, escalating unfilled gaps and seeking support to ensure plans for continuity of cover are put in place within the respective on-call teams. 

You will be based at Worthing Hospital, with some cross-site travel required.

Experience/Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • Educated to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent level of experience 5 GCSE (A*- C) which must include English and Maths
  • • Evidence of recent further professional development
  • • Good working experience with Microsoft applications and digital tools and applications

  • • Experience in the healthcare sector
