Job overview

The unit supports rehabilitation for patients after recent diagnosis of stroke. This gives the opportunity to see the patients journey and play and key part in their recovery. The unit provides 24/7 nursing care. You will be a valuable member of the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

To support senior and to supervise junior staff in the provision of competent, sensitive and safe nursing care within the Community team and ICT care bedded units.

Take responsibility for running of the department during a shift in the absence of more senior staff

Take responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for a group of patients

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • RGN / RN / Diploma Studies
  • Be willing to undertake further training and development
Desirable criteria
  • Completion of post qualification preceptorship

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • To have recently worked within a nursing capacity
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the MDT
Desirable criteria
  • Community Hospital experience
  • Demonstrate an interest in palliative care
  • Demonstrate an understanding of evidence based practice
  • Have an interest in audit and maintaining standards
