Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Specialist Nurse or Practitioner to join the Hull and East Riding CAMHS Community Eating Disorder Team based in Beverley on a permanent basis.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Registered Practitioner with post qualifying experience that may be a Nurse (Mental Health, Learning Disability or Children’s), Social Worker, Occupational Therapist etc. Previous CAMHS experience is not essential but would be of benefit. Experience of using evidence based systemic interventions and working with families is essential and experience of working with eating disorders is desirable.
The post entails working in a lively, busy Multi-disciplinary Team delivering high quality mental health assessment and predominantly systemic intervention to children and young people with eating disorders and their families.
The team covers a large geographical area and works in partnership with other agencies and professionals within the Hull and East Riding boundary.
The post holder will receive supervision, support and training from the team and other providers.
The ability to commute within the service’s geographical area with access to the appropriate means of transport is essential.

The main elements of the clinical work will include using an evidence-based model to support the assessment, planning and delivery of care to young people and families with an eating disorder.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Part III or 13 of NMC live register or equivalent professional registration relevant to the post e.g. social worker
- Post registration/graduate diploma or equivalent experience in related work area, to demonstrate advanced level of practice
- Demonstrable experience of mentoring preregistration students/supervising staff
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of CPD or experiential learning at an advanced level e.g. Post graduate/Masters level
- Leadership training/qualification/experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at specialist level of care
- Evidence of development of specialist practice skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development
- Evidence of promoting/supporting active user/carer involvement/participation
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrable experience of working in the specific field where the post is held
- Development of specialist/advanced level of practice skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development
- Leadership/management experience which has had a positive impact and created change within the service delivery/practice
- Professional networking locally
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers and their application to clinical and service area
- Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
- Basic IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of project work that has impacted on practice and demonstrates a higher level of communication/planning/change that impacts within own area of work/responsibility
