Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Perfusion Scientist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring the safe and effective management of patients' physiological functions. You will be expected to deliver within the framework of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with various healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

The candidate will provide Clinical Perfusion and specialist services as part of a team and must be fully registered with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists GB&I.

Perform a range of highly specialist Perfusion science activities relating to cardiopulmonary bypass with special reference to clinical, technical and scientific aspects.

Perform a wide range of complex blood coagulation assays and draw upon expert knowledge to interpret and report results to a wide scope of staff including Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Nursing staff, Physiology Technicians and ODPS.

Capable of maintaining intense concentration for extended periods during routine and specialist perfusion techniques, especially while monitoring complex data during cardiopulmonary bypass.

Actively adapts to the dynamic clinical environment, including unpredictable workloads, emergency procedures, deadlines, and critical situations.

The successful candidate will fully participate in the department's on-call rota, ensuring the smooth operation of a 24-hour service.

Working for our organisation
