Job overview
We are recruiting a care taker at Holy Name, This is a 37.5 hour Fulltime post.
The hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm and the duties will include basic maintenance of the building and health and safety checks.
Main duties of the job
To deliver a basic level repair and maintenance service to the premises, which may include electrical and
mechanical equipment as well as basic repairs to the fabric of the building
To carry out ongoing maintenance checks and audits such as flushing of water outlets, cleaning of fans and filters
etc, liaising with approved contractors and the Estates Team as necessary.
To assist with moving of furniture, deliveries etc as required.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant subject (electrical engineering, painting/decorating etc.) or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
- Evidence of continuing development related to role
Desirable criteria
- Level 2 Health & Safety Qualification (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Health & Safety Award)
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- An understanding of basic repair procedures
- An understanding of the importance of accurate record keeping and knowledge of information governance requirements
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Microsoft office such as Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of undertaking basic repairs to equipment within the work environment
- Experience of undertaking basic repairs to the fabric of the building
- Experience of working in a busy environment
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within a care environment
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
