Job overview
We are looking for enthusiastic Generic Therapy Assistant to join Hull and East Riding Integrated Falls Team. The role requires the post holder to support with the delivery of falls assessment and intervention alongside Nursing, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy staff.
This role will support in the delivery of falls assessment and interventions and will require the post holder to regularly participate in weekend working. The role requires you to work with both Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists as well as independently under the guidance of a Therapist.
You will receive training and work towards competencies in both professions. Following this, you will continue to receive training and support to enable you to deliver high quality therapy interventions to the best of your ability. You should be empathetic, have excellent communication and listening skills and the ability to support and motivate others to achieve their potential.
Main duties of the job
You will be supported by a well-established and very experienced Multidisciplinary Team and will receive regular supervision. The successful candidate will be working in an exciting and forward thinking organisation that holds service and excellence at the heart of its values, and supports creativity and innovation in the workplace. The organisation provides excellent CPD opportunities for staff, and your therapy team will be supporting you to develop your clinical skills. Where relevant, you may have the opportunity to work in other areas also.

- NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent relevant knowledge and experience
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Working knowledge of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to clinical and service area e.g. Mental Capacity Act, Social Inclusion
- Basic IT skills
- Understanding of confidentiality and information governance
- Appropriate knowledge/experience of working with people with physical and/or mental health problems
Desirable criteria
- Willingness to undertake further academic development
- Knowledge of multi-disciplinary working
- Experience of working in a community setting
- Experience of moving and handling people
