Job overview

In this role, you’ll be trusted to keep our kitchen running safely and smoothly, ensuring patients receive nutritious meals in a clean and welcoming environment.
 
You’ll work closely with cooks and other colleagues to support daily food preparation and maintain high hygiene standards. Your work will help create a safe space for patients and staff, supporting their wellbeing through reliable, well‑organised meal services. You’ll be part of a friendly team where good communication and teamwork are central to how we work.

Main duties of the job

What you’ll do:
  • Support the cook with basic meal preparation and safe food service
  • Keep kitchen areas clean, tidy and well organised in line with food safety rules
  • Wash dishes, manage cleaning duties and complete cleaning records
  • Help with menu orders, meal trolleys and stocking beverage bays
  • Use kitchen equipment safely and report any issues straight away
What we’re looking for:
  • Basic Food Hygiene Level 2 (or equivalent)
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to organise your work and manage busy periods
  • A flexible, supportive approach to working in a healthcare setting
  • You might have experience in kitchens or hospitality, but we welcome people with transferable skills

  • Previous experience of working in a kitchen and a health care setting
  • Experience of working in a busy environment
