Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner’s (PWP) to join City Health Care Partnership’s NHS Hull Talking Therapies Service.

You will be providing evidence-based step 2 CBT based treatment interventions and service assessments in a split treatment and assessment post.

You will be delivering these interventions in a range of settings and through a range of mediums such as face to face to and telephone.

You will be working with a diverse range of clients from a variety of backgrounds and whose first language may not be English. 

As a qualified PWP you will have knowledge and experience of working with people experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues. It is therefore essential that you can communicate sensitively and effectively, are non-judgmental and compassionate. 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be proactive in their own development and will engage in peer and individual supervision. You will be able to work flexibly across the area of service delivery and will be proactive in organisational, service and personal development.

The successful candidate will be offered appropriate training, support, and supervision to develop their skills and support the acquisition and / or maintenance of their registration.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • PWP qualification with an IAPT accredited PWP Training Course or Qualified Graduate Mental Health Worker with relevant Primary Care experiences and competences as required
  • Registered with BABCP or BPS, or prepared to work towards registration.
Desirable criteria
  • IAPT accredited PWP supervisor
  • Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy
  • Psychology or other health related postgraduate/undergraduate degree

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence or working with people who have experienced a mental health problem
  • Demonstrates high standards in written communication and is able to write clear records, reports and letters
  • Ability to manage own caseload and time
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in Primary Care Services
  • Worked in a service where agreed targets demonstrating clinical outcomes
  • Experience of working with social inclusion
  • Evidence of working in the local community
  • Experience of working with a dialogue translator

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates an understanding of mild to moderate mental health issues and how it may present in Primary Care
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surround work and the impact it can have on mental health problems
  • Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
  • Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
