Band 6 Casual Specialist Dietitian 

We are looking for a dietitian to join the adult dietetic service on a casual basis.  You should have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to work within a changing environment. Commitment to team working is important, as it the ability to adapt to a varied caseload.

This post would suit someone with experience in enteral feeding in both the acute and outpatient setting . Regular supervision and support will be provided. 

Main duties of the job

Provide a comprehensive dietetic service to adult inpatients and outpatients.

Perform specialist dietetic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions to provide, develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

Work closely with other members of the Multi-Disciplinary  Team and in conjunction with other Dietitians as required.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc or post grad diploma in nutrition & dietetics
  • HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
  • Clinical supervisory skills course

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Adequate post registration experience of service delivery in a variety of different clinical settings
  • Motivational interviewing/behavioural change skills trainin
  • Knowledge of enteral feeding
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of supervising/ mentoring junior staff, dietetic assistants and students.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of a wide variety of clinical knowledge
  • Theoretical evidence of specialist clinical area
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of CPD in specialist clinical area
