An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Estates and Facilities Directorate (E&F) for enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to work with the Hotel Services team as a Monitoring Officer.
The role will involve undertaking audits against agreed specifications i.e. The National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness and other key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to both in house and external contracts.
The role will also support the Hotel Services Management Assistants in ensuring high standards of performance are attained within a number of contracted and in-house Estates & Facilities (E&F) services.
E&F support the Trust in a range of services from cleanliness through to designing new, modern healthcare environments. The team have a wide range of skills to operate services and offer expert advice within areas of expertise.
The team is made up of three full time employees working a range of shifts at both sites on rotation, working closely with the Hotel Services Management team auditing services that are operating both in house and by external contractors.
Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.
Main duties of the job
To perform frequent audits across both sites (Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital) in both clinical and non-clinical environments, measuring the findings against agreed standards.
Liaising and engaging with colleagues offering feedback and solutions to achieve standards.
Producing reports to reflect findings in a timely and accurate manner which allow the data to be extracted and interpreted with ease.
The role is varied and will involve visiting areas to gather data and then compile findings using electronic systems (hand held tablets / PC work station). This will require the post holder to complete physical checks in person on a daily basis across both sites with occasional requirements for same day rechecks.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE English or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant subject
Desirable criteria
- ECDL or similar computer skills qualification
- Customer Service qualification
Knowledge, Training and Experience
Essential criteria
- Minimum 2 years operational knowledge of facilities related services
- Recent supervisory experience
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety particularly in relation to cleaning
- IT skills and knowledge of quality and monitoring systems
- Knowledge of cleaning standards and methodology
- Quality auditing and monitoring experience
- Ability to meet agreed deadlines
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of The National Standards of healthcare Cleanliness 2021 or other contract specifications
