Job overview

Join the NHS Humber Health Partnership’s Patient Safety Teams in the delivery of key aspects of the NHS Patient Safety Strategy and Patient Safety Incident Response Framework, and delegated duties in relation to the wider governance team

The post holder will provide comprehensive and high-quality administration and co-ordination support to the Patient Safety Team and will provide an effective administration to the patient safety incident investigation process, as well as the care group governance teams and the central Quality Governance teams across the newly formed Humber Health Partnership (HHP) supporting multiple sites. Flexibility in travelling and the ability to work independently across various sites are essential.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

·      To provide a consistent level of administrative support to the Patient Safety Team

·       Providing support to both the Patient Safety Team and the wider Trust in relation to the implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework

·       Assist in the dissemination of patient safety information for learning

·       To assist, develop and maintain the Patient Safety Team intranet page

·       Undertake daily incident data validation and support for the team in the monitoring of incident management and trends

·       Proactively scan the Trust Local Risk Management System (Datix) for high risk/harm incidents and alert the Patient Safety Team

·       Extract data from the Trust Local Risk Management System and assist in the production of qualitative and quantitative reports

·       Assist in organising weekly and monthly patient safety meetings, and carry out general administration duties including: booking rooms, producing agendas and recording minutes, responding to emails and some aspects of diary management

·       Provide administrative support to the wider Governance team as required, including typing or editing correspondence, requesting and processing patient case notes, photocopying, managing telephone and email enquiries and taking accurate messages.

Education / Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English Language
  • NVQ Level 2 in a subject relevant to administration or project management
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL or equivalent

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment
  • Proven ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, timeliness and effectiveness
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems

  • Previous experience of the NHS
  • Experience/knowledge of DATIX (or equivalent system) and their management
