Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit dedicated, enthusiastic and innovative individuals to join an evolving team providing Low Intensity Psychological Interventions. Working as a PWP within the East Riding Talking Therapies Service  you will deliver therapy to the population of the East Riding of Yorkshire via telephone, webcam and face to face.

We are an Accredited Service with an excellent reputation and an impressive record of meeting the required Talking Therapies National and Local standards.

The Service offers a fantastic package for CPD to maintain registrations. 

We are a Lead Provider of  Talking Therapies in the East Riding and work closely with our partner providers.

Main duties of the job

The Service supports people aged 16 and upwards in the community providing a range of recovery focused Talking Therapy interventions for people with mild to moderate common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression via telephone /face to face and webcam video. The service provides a stepped care treatment approach.

The post holder will:

  • Be registered with the BABCP as a PWP
  • Manage a caseload of patients with mild to moderate common mental health problems via, telephone, video/webcam, groups and online CCBT and face to face;
  • Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, working to the department’s referral protocol;
  • Conduct routine assessments;
  • Engage in regular clinical and managerial supervision (individual and group);
  • Attend regular caseload management;
  • Supported to attend dedicated CPD days;
  • Attend regular online business meetings;
  • Support a diverse population across the East Riding.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Qualification from PWP Training Course (Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity therapy)
  • Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
  • Be registered as a PWP with the BABCP
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem
  • Demonstrates high standards in written communication
  • Able to write clear reports and letters.
Desirable criteria
  • Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
  • Ability to manage own caseload and time
  • Experience of working in Primary Care Services
