An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly-motivated individual to join the Administrative Team in the Department of Psychological Medicine on a fixed Term contract for 16 months to cover Maternity Leave.
The successful candidate will work at Princes Court Medical Centre 9.30am - 3.00pm Mon- Fri.
Candidates must be organised and able to work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable nature are essential for this role, especially during telephone contact with patients, staff and the general public
Word Processing to RSA II/OCR II or equivalent, proficient keyboard skills, experience in the use of Microsoft Office/Word packages and a good standard of English are essential attributes. The ability to prioritise workload, whilst maintaining flexibility in response to the changing needs of the department and adopting a proactive approach to work, are also necessary traits.
You must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills, be educated to NVQ2 or have equivalent experiential learning.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to meet and greet patients at reception, deal with telephone enquiries from patients’ regarding their appointments, data inputting, booking and re-arranging of appointments by letter or phone and other general office duties. You will also be required to input data onto various patient administration systems (Lorenzo).

Essential criteria
- 2 G.C.S.E 's including English and Maths
- Standard Keyboard skills RSA 2 ECDL, or demonstrable experience.
Knowledge

- To have some knowledge of office procedures, clerical/reception work

- Experience in the operation and use of Microsoft Office products
- Effective organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Trust IT systems e.g. Lorenzo or S1 as appropriate to work area

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
