An exciting opportunity has arisen for Healthcare Assistants to join our Humbelievable bank and support services throughout the Trust.

Primarily the shifts for this service mainly operate within our Mental Health units based at Newbridges, Miranda House, Mill View Court / Lodge, Maister Court, Cottingham Road, Hull. However, as a member of our bank you will be able to pick up shifts trust wide.

The ideal candidate will be innovative, dynamic and flexible as they will be called upon for a variety of shifts, including, nights, long days and days. 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

To provide and receive routine information requiring tact, reassurance, empathy and persuasive skills

  • To demonstrate a safe level of inter-personal skills when managing individuals with complex needs, accounting for any communication difficulties facing the patient.
  • To accurately record patient information
  • To contribute to clinical meetings
  • To maintain up to date knowledge and skills relevant to the field of practice
  • Work with other colleagues within the relevant area of care
  • To recognise emergency situations and respond accordingly
  • Maintain up to date training and knowledge of violence and aggression and basic life support skills
  • reporting significant findings to a registered healthcare professional
  • To implement clinical tasks in care packages/care plans, document observations and actions as directed by a registered healthcare professional
  • To provide direct personal care to patients using initiative in response to patient need
  • Be aware of and follow relevant Trust policies and procedures e.g. control of infection policies and procedures; Clinical Governance Framework
  • Handles patient’s property and valuables
  • Guided be Trust policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the recording of personally generated clinical observations and information relating to patients and their care, ensuring all entries are counter-signed by a registered healthcare professional

  • Working knowledge of mental health or learning disability issues including: mental health legislation, medication management, user involvement
  • Demonstrable experience of working with young people and/or mental health and/or learning disabilities services

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • NVQ level 3 in mental health / learning disabilities area or significant equivalent experience in providing a range of activities for CYPF e.g. school observations and and managed meals
  • To develop a knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and policy drivers, e.g. the Mental Health Act, Vulnerable Adult Policy, the Children’s Act, Valuing People and implications of these to CYPF and their care
  • To have an understanding of Safeguarding, Confidentiality and Information Governance
  • To have an understanding of mental health or learning disability issues

Skills and Competencies
