Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to clinically lead community Services across Scarborough Whitby and Rydale.
As divisional clinical lead for community services you will work closely with the General Manager for community services to ensure that services are clinically lead with strong governance and patient safety at the centre of service delivery. Community services include community wards, UTC, community nursing, virtual ward, intermediate care and other specialist community health services across a large geographical patch .
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a high degree of professional knowledge and experience of community services, hold a current, relevant professional registration and be self-motivated and able to work within the changing landscape of community services. The role requires the ability to work flexibly and effectively in partnership with internal and external partners and be able to represent the Trust at local, regional and national level, and contribute to the trust vision of being a trust of choice.
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical leadership and direction across community services and to ensure good governance and patient care is delivered in accordance with local, regional and national requirements.
Including but not limited to:
• Accountable for the clinical strategic leadership and professional development of operational services within the designated services, working closely with the general manager
• Accountable for ensuring the organisation meets its statutory duties of appropriate regulation of nurses, allied health professionals and psychologists within the designated services
• To professionally lead a culture of practice development that is supported by education/training, research, audit and the broader quality improvement agenda

Qualifications, Education and Training
Essential criteria
- Professional registration in clinical area relevant to the post
- Masters (MSc) level or equivalent knowledge/qualification plus Significant experience and additional CPD in relevant clinical areas
- Management/leadership qualification or proven Demonstrable experience in areas such as leadership, staff performance, professional/clinical l development, service provision, finance
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Full understanding of relevant policy drivers and their application to the organisation.
- Expert understanding /application of relevant requirements/ standards within identified areas of responsibility
- Expert understanding of systems redesign and business change processes
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of clinical /organisational processes e.g. human resources, finance, facilities, service provision
- Effective inter-personal skills and experience in leading and managing change
- Able to demonstrate effective communication skills at all levels i.e. locally, regionally and nationally, both verbal and written
- Be able to demonstrate leadership/management skills at an advanced level involving professional and service development
- Ability to demonstrate ethical values and attitudes in a culture of equality and diversity
- Analytical thinking and diagnostic skills , in relation to both qualitative and quantitative clinical data.
- Be able to inspire, lead and motivate others
