Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Dietitian to join our supportive and friendly adult community dietetic service which covers Whitby, Scarborough, Malton and Pocklington.  

We are looking for a specialist dietitian with excellent clinical, communication and team working skills. The role entails providing dietetic support and advice for a range of clinical conditions to our adult clients to optimise their health. Remote working and part time hours would be considered.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role will include:

  • To manage own caseload and provide a high standard of care to meet the needs of patients referred for a range of clinical conditions such as nutrition support, diabetes and gastrointestinal conditions
  • To participate in practice supervision, continued professional development and student training

Person specification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at a specialist level of care
  • Evidence of sound post-registration professional practice, with a variety of practical experience and evidence to support autonomous clinical practice in clients with a range of clinical conditions, including some with complex needs
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of specialist clinical areas such as malnutrition, enteral tube feeding, diabetes and gastrointestinal conditions

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation and guidance relevant to clinical and service area
  • Current registration with HCPC
  • Professional qualification to Degree level or Diploma level BSc (Hons) Dietetics or Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics

Skills and Competencies

Essential criteria
  • Effective inter -personal skills and experience in supervising and mentoring
  • Able to demonstrate effective communication skills and work flexibly within the team/service
