Job overview
We are looking for a motivated Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist to join our small team. The successful candidate will be interested in providing excellent patient care in the community setting, whilst helping develop our service further.
Our service provides care for patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. We offer appointments by home visit, outpatient clinic, telephone, and video. Our caseload includes neurological degenerative conditions, care homes, two community hospitals, voice and stroke.
We cover the geographical areas of Scarborough, Filey, Ryedale, Pocklington and Whitby. We work alongside community therapy and nursing services. The work base location and split of geographical caseload will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
We are a supportive team who work together closely. We are keen to provide excellent patient care, help develop your skills and for you to help develop our skills. Main duties of the job
- To deliver of high level, quality care and evidence-based interventions in line with local and national guidance within adult acquired community caseload.
- To deliver SLT intervention in both autonomous and multidisciplinary working.
- To plan, provide and evaluate interventions within an identified clinical area.
- To participate in the delivery of service specific training as required
- To support identified assistants
- To undertake administrative duties as required
- To manage a caseload, including self-directed planning and time management within identified clinical area.

- Degree or Diploma plus relevant skills, knowledge, training and experience
- Current professional registration
- An understanding of relevant clinical practice/standards within identified clinical area

- Full understanding of relevant policy, drivers and their application to clinical and service area
Experience

- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) e.g. developing specialist interests
