The advertised post is for a band 6 specialist nurse within the Haltemprice and Beverley OPCMHT 

The post requires  providing assessment and intervention support to adults predominately aged over 65 in the East Riding area. The team supports patients with both functional and organic illness. 

The role will involve triage and assessment of those new into services as well as increased care provision to those already open to other teams.

The applicant will be expected to have specialist nursing knowledge of working with older people with organic and functional mental health issues. 

You will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills , providing supervision to healthcare staff . You will lead and participate in the development of staff through appraisal and clinical supervision.

You will provide nursing interventions across the East Riding, in order to support the wider community services as required by patient need and demand.     You will be required to work in collaboration with other teams and agencies to ensure the best care for the teams patients. 

The applicant will be expected to have knowledge in mental health conditions, including Dementia and experience in this area would be an advantage, additional training and support will be given.

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse of the live NMC register
  • Post registration/graduate diploma or equivalent experience in related work area, to demonstrate advanced level of practice
  • Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area

  • Evidence of CPD or experiential learning at an advanced level e.g. Post graduate/Masters level
  • Leadership Qualification/Experience
