Are you looking for an exciting role in Paediatric Audiology?

Are you passionate about supporting deaf children and their families?

We have an exciting opportunity for a well motivated Audiologist to join us in the Paediatric Audiology Team at Basildon and Thurrock Hospital.

 

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a qualified Audiologist with an interest in paediatric audiology or would like to build on their paediatric experience.

The post holder will be expected to undertake diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology within the paediatric Audiology service for children from 5 years to 18 years.

They will be expected to support as required with assessment on children under 5 years, complex children, and young adults.

They should be confident in fitting, maintaining, and verifying NHS hearing aids. 

There is potential to gain further experience and training in diagnostic assessments of babies from birth up to 5 years. This includes auditory brainstem response audiometry, Oto-acoustic emissions and visual reinforcement audiometry.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc Audiology or equivalent
  • State registration with AHCS or HCPC (as clinical scientist)
Desirable criteria
  • Member of a professional body eg BSA or BAA

Knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience
  • Experience of Paediatric Audiology
  • Experience of working in the NHS

Communication

Essential criteria
  • Excellent level of written English
