Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist

Consultant

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist to join the expanding Radiology Service at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, helping to deliver exceptional imaging services to the population of South Essex.

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in Cardiac MRI, or those who are keen to develop and achieve accreditation in this specialist area. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of advanced cardiothoracic imaging services supporting both acute hospital care and Community Diagnostic Centres linked to Basildon University Hospital.

You will join one of the largest and most progressive radiology services in the region, working within a fully integrated Trust-wide team of over 500 staff and 60 Consultant Radiologists across our three hospital sites. Supported by strong clinical leadership and a collaborative culture, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services, shaping clinical pathways and contributing to the development of imaging protocols and service innovation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious radiologist looking to further develop their specialist interests while working in a supportive environment that values professional development, collaboration and excellence in patient care.

Join us and help shape the future of cardiothoracic imaging across Mid and South Essex.
