Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.
We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

Our Outpatients Referral and Communication Team is based at Basildon Centre; St Martins Square offices are on the second floor of the building which is situated in the Town Centre of Basildon
Main duties of the job
Answer the telephone confidentially to patient queries
Check and update patient demographic records on PAS
Use EPR for checking appointments
Use e-RS for cancelling and rebooking appointments
Book interpreters as required in a timely manner
Ensure messages are accurately passed on to relevant personnel in a timely manner
Have a good understanding of the 18-week pathway
Sort and disseminate daily post accurately
Ensure referral letters are saved and recorded within the Trusts electronic system
Undertaking the photocopying, scanning, emailing patient documents/information as required by the team
