Facilities Team Leader

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

 

Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity here at Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust to join our team we are looking for a Facilities Team Leader.

You will be responsible for supporting the Manager and supervising the cleaning and catering provision within the Community Hospital Site.

You will be able to organise and supervise the BCH Domestics in a professional manner and ensure the provision of an efficient and quality service whilst meeting the needs of all service users.

Provide a courteous service ensuring that all duties and responsibilities are carried out in accordance with all Health and Safety procedures.

Main duties of the job

Respond promptly and appropriately to enquiries by telephone, email and in person.

Provide a high standard of customer service.

Administrative work is prioritised and completed within prescribed timescales.

Be prepared to work as a Domestic Service Assistant at short notice on all wards or departments to cover staff absences

Ensure the service of meals and beverages are timely and meet the needs of both the patients and wards and ensure portion control and food presentation is monitored according to the patient’s needs.

Work unsupervised and report/escalate concerns/issues to the Hotel Services Site Manager. Maintain quality of own work and encourage others to do so.

Maintain good communication and co-operation with all wards and departments and feedback information, seeking advice as and when necessary to the Facilities Site Manager.

Assist the Facilities Site Manager with administration duties to ensure the effective running of the service and the timely submission of information.

Essential criteria
  • Good communication skills, both verbally & written

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Basic IT & keyboard skills
  • Experience of undertaking NPSA cleaning audits
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a healthcare environment

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good education GCSE C or above including Maths & English
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Manual Handling
  • Knowledge of Infection Prevention
  • Knowledge & understanding of COSHH regulations

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene
