Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to join our orthopaedic team at Broomfield Hospital and Braintree Community Hospital. The successful candidate will work across both sites, assessing and treating trauma and elective orthopaedic patients.
You will join a supportive and friendly team, with opportunities for professional development, close managerial support, and an opportunity to be involved in service change and improvement.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide the highest standards of Physiotherapy across borth trauma and elective orthopaedics.
  • To work as an advanced autonomous practitioner.  Assess, sets goals, provides treatment and progresses own patient caseload which contains patients with complex and specialist needs.
  • To work across both Broomfield and Braintree Community Hospital sites.
  • Leads in specialist area; contributes to development of specialist services and relevant policies helping implement policy changes and monitoring standards of clinical practice.
  • Supervises, teaches and evaluates students and other staff working in own specialist area.
  • Leads clinical audits and may participate in research.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Graduate diploma or degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registered as an Physiotherapist
Desirable criteria
  • Post graduate qualification in specialism

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of post graduate training/development courses relevant to speciality area of orthopaedics
  • Significant time working effectively at Band 6 level, including experience within both trauma and elective orthopaedics.
Desirable criteria
  • Has undertaken an audit or research activity that had an impact on service delivery.
  • Previous band 7 experience in orthopaedics
  • Previous NHS experience
