Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.
We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.
Job overview
To assist the Security Manager in all operational aspects of the security service. This may include report writing, admin tasks related to the delivery of Conflict Resolution Training, rostering, amending Healthroster duties and any other administration duties.
Main duties of the job
To manage the ID badge production process, assist with CCTV reviews and evidence disclosure.
To co-ordinate and manage all aspects of ID and Access Control Administration as appropriate, and to assist with stock control and maintaining appropriate stock levels for all consumables, raising orders and carry out any other administration duties under the direction of the line manager or Head of Security.
Assisting in the management of rosters and and shift cover.
Utilising Health Roster to monitor, amend and finalise shifts.
Supervising and maintenance of the security equipment – monitoring for any defects and escalating to line manager.
Shape continuous improvement of services in terms of performance and staff and visitors’ satisfaction reports.

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- A level or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Security-related certification
- Training in conflict resolution, physical intervention, or control and restraint techniques (or willingness to undertake training)
- Understanding of NHS or public sector policies and procedures related to site safety and security
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous admin experience
- Ability to use MS Office suite proficently
Desirable criteria
- Experience in using CCTV system
- Experience in using access control system (ID badge production)
- Experience working in a security role within a large, complex organisation
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with security incidents, including aggressive behaviour, theft, trespass, and safeguarding concerns
Communication

- Evidence of customer service experience

- Ability to conduct risk assessments, security audits, and site inspections
