Applications are invited for a 6 month Locum Consultant post in Gastroenterology. This is post is to cover current long term sick leave and prior to the substantive appointment of a 5th Consultant in Gastroenterology. You will join an enthusiastic and dynamic team of 4 full time Consultant Gastroenterologists based at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, and be expected to contribute to the out of hours GI Bleed Rota. Participation in the General Medical on call rota is expected
The department provides a full range of specialist gastroenterology services to a population of 380,000, including a dedicated JAG Accredited 3 room, purpose-built endoscopy unit (OGD, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, PEGs, capsule endoscopy, ERCP and EUS), an established IBD service with an IBD CNS, a growing hepatology service and established upper GI and lower GI surgical units (regional upper GI cancer centre), complex MDT care services. We are based in a newly enhanced integrated hospital site, with excellent links with community services. Broomfield Hospital also has strong links with Anglia Ruskin University’s Science Campus and London-based research & educational networks.

The Trust has a reputation for providing high quality well-structured care in a friendly and supportive environment. We are looking for a dynamic colleague with enthusiasm and leadership qualities. You should be able to lead a multidisciplinary team. You are required to be in possession of your MRCP, licensed and fully registered with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register for both General Medicine and Gastroenterology or within six months of achieving this.
