Job overview
Are you looking for a new challenge in a rewarding environment?
Applications are invited for Band 4 Nursery Nurses to work within our Transitional Care Service and Neonatal Unit to cover 9 months maternity leave.
Keeping mothers and babies together should be the cornerstone of newborn care. Neonatal Transitional Care (NTC) supports resident mothers as primary care providers for their babies with care requirements in excess of normal newborn care, but who do not require to be in a neonatal unit (NNU).
NTC has the potential to prevent thousands of admissions annually to neonatal units, providing additional support for small and/or late preterm babies and their families.
We are looking for highly motivated, compassionate and enthusiastic nursery nurses to join our neonatal nursing team. We have a fixed-term position available, for individuals with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
Our Neonatal Unit is situated within Broomfield Hospital and is part of the East of England Operational Delivery Network. The Neonatal Ward is a Level 2 Local Unit and offers comprehensive neonatal services, which include designated Intensive Care cots, High Dependency cots, Special Care cots and a Transitional Care Service.
We are Gold level Bliss Accredited, and always strive to provide high quality, safe and effective care and are looking for someone with the vision, skill and enthusiasm to help take the unit forward.
We have Stage 2 BFI and continue to work towards Stage 3.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 4 nursery nurse, you will work within the team to provide, and support the provision of a high standard of neonatal care for the infant and their family. The job will entail working in the post natal ward providing transitional care, and the neonatal unit.
Our staff confidently offer advice and support to parent/carers of babies for a range of issues from infant feeding to information about safety in the home.
Working for our organisation
Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff due to more employment opportunities across our Trust
