EPR EPMA Pharmacy Technician (EPUT and MSEFT)

Band 6

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

Job overview

We are looking for a motivated and experienced EPR EPMA Technician to join the Pharmacy Directorate as part of the ambitious Nova Programme, a UK first-of-its-kind implementation of a Unified Electronic Patient Record (UEPR) across acute, mental health and community services.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a large-scale digital transformation programme led jointly by Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) and Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT).

You will be central to the configuration, testing, deployment and optimisation of the Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) system, helping to harmonise practice across organisations and improve patient safety and care.

Working closely with pharmacy, clinical, digital and analytical teams, you will support system build and maintenance, reporting, ward-level troubleshooting, and the training of clinical staff in preparation for go-live and beyond. You will also provide supervision and support to junior project staff, acting as a point of escalation and subject matter expert for EPMA.

The role offers a blend of remote working and on-site presence across Trust locations in Essex, with opportunities to engage directly with multidisciplinary teams in clinical environments.

Main duties of the job

If you are an experienced pharmacy technician with strong digital, communication and organisational skills, and you are keen to contribute to a transformative programme that will shape the future of patient records and medicines management, we would love to hear from you.
