An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a newly developed bed cleaning team. In conjunction with the implementation of the Teletracking project, this team will be central to the operational success and development of patient flow across the trust.

Under the management of the Domestic Services Department, the successful post holder will provide timely bed turnarounds following patient discharges. Undertaking the cleaning and preparation of patient bed space areas, Bed Cleaning Assistants will be guided by our automated system through the use of hand held devices. Full training will be given to develop the required skills and knowledge to manage bed space turnarounds.

Working closely with the Multi- professional teams across the trust and at ward level, you will ensure that vacated beds are made available as quickly as possible to assist patient flow.  You will be responsible in maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe bed space environment for patients and assist nurses in line with the National Standards of Cleanliness.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals, who can demonstrate through their actions and behaviours that they are a team player and able to adopt and adhere to our trust values and behaviours.

Being able to work both independently and as part of a team will be an essential skill. Competency in using hand held devices is desirable, however training will be provided. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring our patient’s journeys whilst under our care are seamless and will need to be comfortable to work within the clinical ward environment and engage with patients, relatives and the public when required.
