Medical Secretary Administrator

Main duties of the job

Provide comprehensive administrative support to the clinical team, undertaking a range of duties including filing, scanning, correspondence management, form completion and maintaining accurate patient records.

Support patient pathways by tracking patient progress, monitoring appointments and ensuring relevant information is updated and available in a timely manner.

Process incoming and outgoing post, distribute correspondence appropriately and assist with the preparation and sending of patient letters.

Retrieve and manage telephone messages, responding to enquiries promptly and escalating issues where necessary.

Maintain and update spreadsheets, databases and other administrative systems, ensuring information is accurate, complete and up to date.

Collate diagnostic results and ensure relevant documentation is available to support clinical decision-making and patient care.

Contact patients by telephone as required to confirm appointments, provide information and support the smooth coordination of services.

Provide secretarial and clerical support to the wider team, contributing to the efficient and effective delivery of patient-centred care.
