Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Job overview
The Emergency Department at Broomfield Hospital is looking to recruit Receptionists/Administrators to work on the front desk.
This is an opportunity to work in a fast paced environment at the front of patient care, within a busy Emergency Department.
Ideally you will be an enthusiastic, motivated, compassionate and hardworking person to be the face of the Emergency Department and often the first point of contact for patients entering the department.
This position is varied from day to day, the main objective of the role is booking in patients and ambulances on our Lorenzo computer system, answering the telephone, taking down messages accurately and filing notes.
You should display excellent communication and organisational skills, be computer literate and are expected to present a professional image with the ability to inspire confidence in staff, patients and relatives.
Flexible working is available to enable our services to provide care seven days a week, 24 hours a day; therefore a shift pattern to cover a 24hr 7 day a week service is required, which will include bank holidays and night shifts. Shifts are split into earlies, (07:00-14:30, 08:00-16:00) lates (14:30-22-00, 16:00-00:00) and nights (22:00-07:00).
Main duties of the job
To provide a comprehensive, flexible & efficient administrative support service as part of rotational shift patterns for the Emergency Department.
Creating patient attendance episodes ensuring all data is entered timely and accurately. Identify/monitor patients in the waiting area in need of immediate treatment/assessment to the nursing staff.
Work using own initiative within departmental protocols. Maintain effective communication with patients and relatives at all times including times of distress.
