Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Job overview

As the Endoscopy Receptionist your role as the primary point of contact and support for patients and their families within the Endoscopy unit, providing a welcoming and professional reception, to ensure a comfortable and positive experience. Manage telephone enquiries from patients and internal departments with efficiency and courtesy. Support the Endoscopy booked admissions process and carry out a range of essential clerical tasks, including the preparation and management of patient documentation. Accurately utilise the hospital’s computerised patient information system and assist in data collection and reporting, as required.

The post holder will be expected to work independently to manage their own workload in line with service requirements and local policies. You will be an important member of the Endoscopy Administrative team with valued opinions that will be shared and discussed.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the Junior Service Manager and Endoscopy Administration Team to co-ordinate and improve patient experience within the unit.  You will build close working relationships with Medical, Nursing and Administrative members across MSE and have an opportunity to create change.
