Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our wonderful Estates & Facilities Team providing an efficient and high quality service.

This is a skilled post is to undertake trade and multi-skilled supervisory works as directed. You will provide a high-quality maintenance service across all Trust sites.

  • Responsible for the electrical & mechanical engineering section including supporting the management of directly employed staff.
  • Act as Authorised Person in relation to Low Voltage Electrical systems.
  • To supervise the Estates Technicians ensuring compliance with Trust safety procedures and standards.

Main duties of the job

If successful, you will

  • Supervise/ carry out a high-quality maintenance service to all critical plant/ services (Generators, Fire alarms, essential and non-essential supplies, lighting and power, main/ final distribution boards, (boilers, air handling units, calorifiers, Hot and cold water systems, etc.)
  • Supervise/carry out maintenance on building fabrications. (Installation and refurbishment).
  • Ensure that all work dockets are issued and completed within the Trusts time scales, ensuring that all documentation is completed correctly, and work carried out to a high standard

Essential criteria
  • Relevant Mechanical or Building services apprenticeship
  • Relevant Mechanical or Building Trade qualification or equivalent City & Guilds
Desirable criteria
  • ONC/HNC qualification

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Work history and supporting information demonstrates knowledge of Health and Safety, current Electrical/building services legislation.
  • Recent practical working experience or mechanical plant.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory position.
