Job overview
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a Lead Midwife for Patient Experience and Engagement.
Through strong leadership and effective management, the Lead Midwife support staff across the MSE maternity service developling and promoting and delivering excellence, while maintaining and continually improving clinical standards evidenced by achievement of key quality performance indicators and national drivers.
This will be achieved through high visibility, accessibility, and surveillance and taking a multidisciplinary approach to education and training.
You must demonstrate clinical expertise, competency in practice and behave as a role model in line with the Trust values.
Main duties of the job
As part of the senior Midwifery team, the role will support the Director of Midwifery to lead Patient Engagement and Experience within MSE maternity services by driving forward national patient experience and engagement agendas to improve the way women experience care within Maternity Services.
To provide guidance, support and effective clinical leadership for all staff undertaking workshops within MSE maternity services, taking a share of responsibility for standards of clinical practice and help create an environment where excellent clinical care is provided.

- Has worked as a Band 7 Midwife
- Has worked as part of the Training / Education team
Desirable criteria
- Has experience regarding data collection and analysis
- Has experience in quality improvement
- Has previous experience working on national/regional workstreams and implementing these in practice.
