Lead Clinical Pharmacist - Surgery and Nutrition

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated senior pharmacist to join our established clinical pharmacy team supporting surgical services at the Broomfield Hospital site.

Main duties of the job
You will be based at the Broomfield Hospital site and will be an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, working alongside the wider pharmacy team to provide excellent care to patients undergoing surgery across the Broomfield site. You will be professionally supported by the MSE Clinical Lead Pharmacist - Surgery & Theatres.
You will have excellent communication and negotiating skills working closely with patients and multi-professional teams throughout the women and children’s team. You will be able to work under pressure and alone with excellent prioritisation skills.
You will ideally be (or working towards being) a qualified independent prescriber having achieved a minimum of a clinical diploma in pharmacy practice (or having equivalent experience).
A proportion of your working week will be allocated towards supporting patients requiring parenteral nutrition. This will involve close multi-disciplinary working with dietitians and clinical nurse specialists, among others.
