Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.
We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.
Job overview
We are looking to recruit a full or part time registered nurse to join our friendly team
Our Stroke Unit at Broomfield is a 32 bedded ward. We admit patients from the emergency department or TIA clinic who have had an acute stroke or TIA and work closely as a multi-disciplinary team to ensure excellent stroke care is given, guided by the Royal College of Physicians National Stroke Guidelines 2016.
Please be advised we cannot accept applications on this post for those that need to complete the OSCE exam. Applicants must have already obtained their NMC pin.
Main duties of the job
- Medicines management
- Discharge planning
- Caring for patients with acute strokes
- Working along side the thrombolysis team to ensure acute stroke care is delivered safely and effectively.
- Working within a multi disciplinary team to ensure all rehab care is also given.
- To assess care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care
- To contribute to supporting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse
- To support the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness in their own clinical area
- To practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust policies procedures and guidelines
