An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Anaesthetic department at Colchester Hospital as a Support Secretary part time 30 hours per week.
We are looking for a hardworking, highly motivated team player who will also be able to work on their own initiative. You must have excellent communication skills and a friendly manner.
You should have a good level of clerical experience and good working knowledge of IT systems although full training in the use of our systems will be provided.
If you feel you have the skills to join our team then you may just be the person we are looking for.

This role is Fixed Term until 31st December 2025, current ESNEFT Employees will be offered on a Secondment basis.
Main duties of the job
Your duties will include: typing, reviewing rotas, booking meetings, taking minutes, calling patients and data input.
Further administration duties will include retrieving patient notes, filing, photocopying and ordering stationery.

- Proven previous experience as secretay or administrator

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE grade 5/C or equivalent in English and Maths
- NVQ level 3 in administration/secretarial or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Audiotyping qualification
- Word processing to RSA II or equivalent
- ECDL (or willingness to undertake ECDL)
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understand requirements for strict confidentiality
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Hospital Portal system
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Medical Secretarial practices
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
