Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Senior EBME Technician.
The Dame Clare Marx Building that will house our elective orthopaedic centre (ESEOC) opens in 2024 with a focus on elective orthopaedic surgery and day cases. The centre will have eight laminar flow theatres, three wards, recovery facilities, and support services including radiology and EBME.
There will also be opportunity to work at all ESNEFT sites, in particular the community hospitals in Clacton and Harwich.
You will have a track record within Biomedical Engineering and be able to work in a friendly, efficient manner, have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
You will have the ability to multitask, prioritise work load and use initiative when required. You will have a record of equipment manufacturer's training and will be able to apply your knowledge effectively as required by the role.
The responsibilities will involve the routine maintenance, calibration and breakdown repair of medical equipment within a critical care hospital environment.
Main duties of the job
Consistent provision of comprehensive and efficient repair, planned maintenance and documentation by yourself and your team members.
Undertake the management of projects, be responsible for defined area of work.
Manage, prioritise, plan and organise your own and the time of others, using your extensive knowledge, skills and experience.
Provide leadership that encourages high performance from other staff within your team, with the aim of maintaining optimum efficiency within the department.
To train and be trained to provide support/line management to enable other team members to deliver an efficient service
To manage the required technology/hospital systems / new technology or system (s) and support other team members to do so to deliver an efficient business administration service.
