Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Haemato-oncology Nurse to take their next step in their career. This is a great opportunity to join a fantastic nurse led outpatient haemato-oncology service. This post is fixed term to cover a secondment until 31st March 2026.

The Collingwood centre is a day unit at Colchester Hospital which offers malignant and non-malignant treatments to Haemato-oncology patients. The unit is nurse led and relies on the nursing expertise to assess and administer treatments to patients in a safe and efficient manner.

You need to competent in the administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments (SACT). In this role you will expand your SACT knowledge, leadership, communication skills and develop professionally in a very busy but supportive learning environment and gain valuable experience.

This post will be worked within our unit working hours of Monday – Friday 08.00 – 18.00.

You will support the ward sisters in leading and developing the nursing team in this department. You will provide inspirational leadership to the department, be positively welcoming, effective and act as a credible role model. You will have well-developed communication, change management and organisational skills, with a positive attitude and share in our vision and commitment to continuously develop and improve. You should be caring, compassionate, forward thinking, well organized and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.
