Job overview

An opportunity is available within the Radiology department for a Clerical Officer to join the team. You will provide administrative support to the department covering all sites across the Trust, as well as reception cover at our reception desk. This role covers the evening shifts from 5-8pm at St. Margaret's Hospital. 

As the face of the department you will meet, greet and direct service users, registering attendances on the CRIS system and cover incoming/outgoing telephone calls. You will also maintain and update relevant databases as well as the transfer of clinical images.

Main duties of the job

Working on radiology reception desks and undertaking reception duties including:

  • Provide administrative and reception support to the Radiology Department at all Hospital sites across the Trust.
  • Providing reception cover at the St. Margaret’s Radiology reception desk between 17:00 and 20:00.
  • To work weekend shifts on a pro-rata basis.
  • To attend patients onto the Radiology Information System on arrival or when appropriate to the imaging modality.
  • To support the clinical staff by monitoring patient waiting times and ensuring patients are informed of any delays.
  • Maintaining and updating relevant information systems and maintain a high degree of accuracy to ensure the correct information is given.
