Job overview

Due to promotion of current post holder and development of roles we are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic experienced urological nurse, who wishes to expand their clinical skills and knowledge further by joining our Urology Diagnostic and Treatment Hub. 

The post holder will have a good experience and knowledge within urology particularly in the delivery of Urodynamics Studies, Uroflow and support clinicians with other urological diagnostic procedures and treatments. This role will be based at St Margaret's Hospital. The ability to work both independently and as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team is essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will integral to providing support to the unit manager, clinicians and team colleagues,  working collaboratively to ensure the highest standards of safety and care, maintaining standards of clinical excellence and continuously improving experiences for patients, families and carers.

The patient experience will be a priority for you with a strong emphasis on compassion and dignity. You will be supported by an experienced and committed team.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial post registration experience
  • Proven excellent communication skills wth patients and families in difficult situations
  • Able to manage difficult situations
  • able to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Ability to use own inititiative and adapt to the changing needs of the service
  • Demonstrate the ability to compile complex written information
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of applying current research to practice
  • Able to demonstrate a working knowledge in standard setting and quality managment
  • demonstrates an understanding of current NHS policy and strategy in relation to cancer care
  • Experience in conducting audits

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of post registration study or Urological nursing
  • Mentorship/teaching qualification
Desirable criteria
  • BSc in Nursing or related subject, or actively working towards
  • Leadership qualification or development module
