Job overview

The Portering team are seeking a self motivated competent supervisor, to provide day to day line management to  our Portering team for a 12 month contract.

Main duties of the job

  • Supervising a team of staff on shift. Allocating, delegating and monitoring tasks in accordance with the specifications. Ensure that all day-to-day tasks are completed at the end of the shift but where necessary hand over to the next shift co-ordinator.
  • To prioritise and allocate various tasks to the appropriate staff via the use of computer/radio system as appropriate, ensuring correct procedures are followed.
  • To ensure that standards and response times are met and if necessary updating tasks with reasons for delay.

Organise roster to cover absence and annual leave

We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford and Epping. Our extended catchment area incorporates a population of up to 500,000 and includes the areas of Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.
