Job overview

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust are looking to appoint a Trust Register (ST3-5) to support our busy  Urology department. 

The successful candidate will join the existing establishment in delivering a broad range of urological services at PAHT, whilst at the same time supporting practitioners in primary care.   The appointee will be expected to support with specific activity in the forms of TRUS Biopsy, Flexible and Rigid Cystoscopy and supporting inpatient theatre lists. Plus provide cover for ward based inpatients and partake in the on call rota.           

Main duties of the job

To assist in maintaining and developing the service locally; prepared to work as part of a team.

The Urology service provides inpatient ward care and the post holder will be expected to undertake weekly ward rounds on a rotational basis within the team.

There are also additional duties within the service and as such, the post holder will be expected to cover clinics, assist in theatre, to take part in audit activities and to be involved in teaching and training the Urology resident doctors.

 

The post will serve to provide advice and treatment to a variety of patients presenting with urological problems. The Urology service also provides an out of hours on call service; the post holder will participate in this on call urology rota.
