Job overview
We are now recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Support Workers (HCSWs) to become part of our wider health care team, which provides high standards of care to our patients.
This advert is for positions across our surgery and critical care division, including:
- General surgery
- Trauma and orthopaedic
- Theatres
- Ophthalmology
You will attend a robust clinical induction program, and comprehensive practical based program, to gain the skills and knowledge to provide quality care to our patients. We will provide you with the tools to gain your care certificate if you have not already completed it.
We welcome applications for those seeking both full and part-time employment, the minimum contract we can offer is 30 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
Our HCSWs works as part of the ward/department team under the supervision of registered nurse/midwife and:
- Participates in the delivery of patient care
- Contributes towards ward/department organisation
- Support registered nurses in the provision of a safe and caring environment
- Complete the National Care Certificate
The post is advertised as a Band 3 role subject to the following:
· successfully completing the care certification within the six month probationary period of employment, during which you will be paid Band 2
or
· providing a copy of your completed care certificate which has been reviewed during the recruitment process and determined as meeting the accepted standard
Upon successful completion (or accepted evidence) of the Care Certification and completion of the probationary period of employment, you will be promoted to NHS AFC Band 3
