Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife to join our established team as the Fetal Medicine Lead Midwife.
The post is a permanent position for 30 hours per week. The postholder will work closely with the Antenatal Screening team, as well as the Fetal Medicine Obstetric team.
Main duties of the job
Fetal Medicine is the branch of medicine that provides care for the fetus (or fetuses) and mother and her family. This includes the assessment of fetal growth and well- being and the diagnosis and management of fetal disorders (including fetal abnormalities) and counselling and support for parents.
The post holder is responsible for day to day delivery of services relating to fetal medicine and for the co-ordination of fetal medicine services within the hospital and community settings.
The post holder will provide clinical expertise, professional direction and leadership to midwives and support workers within maternity. As a clinical resource for fetal medicine, you will be key in the development and delivery of a programme of practice and professional development for staff within the speciality.

Essential criteria
- Registered Midwife
- Knowledge of NMC Handbook of midwives Rules, Code of Professional Conduct, Scope of Professional Practice and its application to clinical practice
- Meets with the requirements of PREP
Desirable criteria
- Has comprehensive knowledge of current practice in Midwifery.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven experience in midwifery
- Experience in fetal medicine or willingness to undertake further training and study

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
