Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Integrated Occupational and Physiotherapy teams.
We have two posts available. One is a permanent contract and the other is a Fixed Term/Secondment. Both are full time rotational post positions
We are looking for a positive individual with experience of working with members of the public, who will take a key role supporting Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. Under direct guidance from qualified Therapists and appropriate training, you will facilitate and implement rehabilitation and assist in equipment assessment and provision. Experience of working in an acute hospital setting would be of benefit. You will have proven years’ relevant employment or voluntary experience within a health, social care and community care setting. A flexible approach to working hours including supporting a 7-day and extended day service and working Saturday/Sunday shifts and Bank Holidays on a rota basis will be essential.

Main duties of the job
Under the direction of a qualified Therapist, to have delegated responsibility for an agreed caseload of patients with non-complex needs.
Contribute to formal therapy assessments, under the guidance of a registered therapist and provide feedback on patients’ functioning in delegated assessment and treatment sessions.
To obtain relevant information from patients’ case notes and provide feedback to registered therapist as required.
Assist and inform the registered therapist in the planning, implementation, evaluation and modification of therapy and team interventions.
Under the guidance of a registered therapist provide a range of interventions / programme of interventions, instructing and guiding patients / carers to support them in achieving identified therapy goals, using specific skills and knowledge of health conditions and patients daily living tasks developed in the post and beyond, and relevant to the clinical area.

Experience
Essential criteria
- • Proven years relevant employment or voluntary work within health / Social Care / community work
- • Experience of working with members of the public
Desirable criteria
- • Experience of working in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
- • Experience of treatment and rehabilitation of adults
- • Experience of carrying out interventions in patient’s /client’s home
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • GSCE Maths & English at Grade C or above
Desirable criteria
- • Relevant NVQ level III or equivalent
- • Current UK driving license
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- • Understanding and application of impact of illness / injury /disability on individuals / their families
Desirable criteria
- • Knowledge of rehabilitation principles
- • Basic IT skills
